Every two years, the Project Management Institute conducts a survey asking project managers world wide about their income. This ninth edition (2015) is based on the information of more than 26.000 respondents in 34 different countries. That effort leads to a significant resource for project managers and their employers!

An interesting highlight of this survey is the fact that project managers with a PMP certification earn about 20% more (on average). PMP stands for Project Management Professional (PMP)®. This is the most important industry-recognized certification for project managers accredited by the Project Management Institute.

The survey also includes salary increases over the past 12 months and expected salary increases over the next 12 months.

As discussed in an earlier post, most companies have a lifespan which is limited to 40 to 50 years. A recent study by Ellen de Rooij of the Stratix Group even mentions an average life expectancy of only 12.5 years for any firm started in Europe.

Initially, this team did not expect to find any emission issues. And when they did, they first thought something was wrong with their test equipment because of the enormous difference with the legal limits. After informing Volkswagen about their findings, it took almost a year and a half before Volkswagen finally admitted that they deliberately  cheated on emission tests.
